Hopper’s Delight

While I was watering my flowers, I noticed this little alien-looking grasshopper on the flowers, so I took a macro picture of it and then I wrote a little sonnet for it. I hope you like it…please let me know what you think of it.

Upon a golden bloom, you gently rest,
A grasshopper, in greenest armor clad,
In nature’s garden, tranquil and unpressed,
You sip the nectar, making moments glad.

Your legs, like slender leaves, with grace they stand,
Your eyes, like orbs of jade, do keenly see,
In this small world, a kingdom, lush and grand,
Where simple beauty whispers quietly.

The flower’s petals, vibrant as the dawn,
Embrace your form with tenderness and care,
In this brief union, life’s great joys are drawn,
A silent dance beneath the summer air.

In this still frame, a story does unfurl,
Of life and love within our fleeting world.
