Emerald lovers

I took this picture of these two Japanese Beetles that were busy on my cherry tree. I was mesmerized by their shiny color, so I wrote a short poem for them.

In the heart of summer’s green,
Amidst the leaves that softly lean,
Two beetles, clad in emerald hue,
Embrace the day, their love in view.

Gleaming shells in the sunlight’s beam,
A living, dancing, vibrant dream,
Their tender touch, a silent song,
In nature’s symphony, they belong.

Beneath the canopy’s gentle shade,
A timeless dance of love displayed,
Their mirrored shells, a perfect fit,
In this small world, they quietly sit.

In emerald and bronze, they glimmer bright,
A fleeting moment of pure delight,
Bound by instinct, life’s sweet tether,
Two beetles in love, here together.
