Lizzy’s Curious Peek
Lizzy peeks around the brick,
With eyes of wonder, sharp and quick.
Her velvet paws, both still and neat,
Silent against the cobbled street.
Behind the wall, what secrets hide?
Stars and branches sweep the sky.
With every spark and glowing light,
The world is wrapped in soft twilight.
The brick is cool, the night is calm,
She waits in shadows, sleek and long.
What does she seek? What does she see?
A quiet place, or mystery?
The boughs above are laced with stars,
Like strings of lanterns hung from far.
The colors blend, they twist and spin,
A dreamlike glow that pulls her in.
Does Lizzy chase the stardust’s gleam,
Or tiptoe through some twilight dream?
Her whiskers twitch, her golden eye
Reflects the wonders of the sky.
The night is young, her heart is bold,
The air is filled with tales untold.
And yet she waits, just out of sight,
A silent guardian of the night.
